'Writ writer: One man’s journey for justice'
a film by Susanne Mason, 54 minutes

This film documents the remarkable transformation of prisoner Fred Arispe Cruz, who was sent to prison for robbery in 1961. Horrifi ed by the rampant brutality of prison life, Cruz fi led a series of lawsuits against the prison system. His writs of haveas corpus shook the prison system to its core and launched the historic prisoners’ rights movement in Texas.

'Lalo Guerrero: The Original Chicano'
a film by Dan Guerrero, 90 minutes

Lalo Guerrero was born in Tucson, Arizona 1916. Showing a love for music early in life, he is now considered the father of Chicano music. This fi lm chronicles his life and features his orchestral, bolero, and comedic performances. See testimonials from performers he influenced like Luis Valdez, Linda Ronstadt, Edward James Olmos, Cheech Marin, and Los Lobos.

'The Fight in the Fields'
a film by Ray Telles and Rick Tejeda-Flores, 116 minutes

This film tells the story of César E. Chávez, the founder of the United Farmworkers of America, and the nonviolent movement he inspired that touched the hearts of millions with the grape and lettuce boycotts of the 1960’s and 70’s. This chapter of American history is a true story of hope and courage against overwhelming odds as farm workers of the UFW took control of their lives.
