THE CHOSEN, the groundbreaking docu-journey detailing their transcontinental exploration for the most amazing artists throughout Latin America, will make its Spanish-language U.S. debut January 28 on Univision and also air on leading networks throughout the Americas.

Univision, which is one of the top five networks regardless of language and the most-watched Spanish-language network in the U.S., will air 12 one-hour weekly episodes every Saturday at 7 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central). Ten different filmmaking teams will be teamed up with ten different nonprofits to create films that tell the organization's story in a unique and creative way. The whistle blows at noon on Friday, January 13 and then all films must be turned in and ready to view by Sunday, January 15 at noon. You'll have 48 hours to create a great film that focuses on good.

DESPIERTA AMERICA Hosts a special event for youths with 'ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: CHIPWRECKED' stars

Karla Martinez and Poncho de Anda, hosts of the morning show Despierta America, presented a special advance screening of the upcoming film 'ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: CHIPWRECKED' for children from the non-for profit organization Youth Co-Op. This is the third installment of the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise from 20th Century Fox and will hit theaters this Friday, December 16, 2011.

More than 60 children from Youth Co-Op met the famous Chipmunks: Alvin, Simon and Theodore, who presented the film and posed for photos at the Cobb theater at Dolphin Mall. Everyone was thrilled to see Alvin, Simon and Theodore in person and share in this memorable holiday experience.

Youth Co-Op se funda en el 1973 como una organización privada sin fines de lucro con la misión de promover el bienestar social de los jóvenes y las familias del Sur de la Florida a través de la educación, el empleo y además, prepararlos para lograr su autosuficiencia. Hoy en día, la organización provee servicios a más de 80,000 personas anualmente a mediante una diversa variedad de programas, entre los cuales se incluyen: Asistencia a los Refugiados, Ayuda para Empleo y Programas para los Jóvenes. Sus oficinas están localizadas en el Sur de la Florida en los siguientes cuatro condados: Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward y Palm Beach.

A través de sus Programas para Jóvenes, sirven a niños y jóvenes desde las edades de 5 a 21 años y reflejan la diversidad de nuestra comunidad. También ofrecen programas para la prevención de la deserción escolar, entrenamientos para GED, programas de actividades para cuando terminan las clases diarias, entrenamientos vocacionales y ayuda para obtener empleos. La organización también opera una escuela Charter o Por Contrato cuyo nombre es Youth Co-Op Charter School en la ciudad de Hialeah Gardens, Florida. La misma, es una escuela publica Titulo I y posee una matrícula de 525 estudiantes que van desde el Kindergarten hasta el 8vo. grado. La escuela utiliza los sistemas de enseñanza más avanzados y posee aulas con poca cantidad de estudiantes para una atención mas personalizada. Rise of the Planet of the Apes available on December 13th

Available December 13th 2011 on DVD after an earlier theatrical release on August 5th 2011 and later, it was available at the Round Rock Movies 8 Theater.

I saw it at the latter theater and enjoyed the performances, although I walked into the theater anticipating some of it would be predictable. The script is by writer-producer Amanda Silver.

It is rated PG-13 and it does have Spanish subtitles available.

La Pastorela Austin theatrical production returns December 8th-10th at 8pm

This pastorela theater production veers from the past in a more modern version of the journey past shephards have taken to visit the Christ child's birth. It is bilingual, but has many of the lines are in Spanish only without being repeated in English as the classic La Pastorela Austin's former playwrights and directors have done in years past.

Change can be good and it is a good theatrical production by some talented actors who bring their talents from across the world to perform 'Natividad: a homemade Pastorela' written by playwright Miguel Angel Santana. This years artistic director is Alex Pedemonte.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast- The Smash Hit Broadway Musical opens December 14th
