The Maya Indie Film Series featured critically acclaimed, Latino themed films. The films are 'All She Can,' 'Blue Eyes,' 'Di Di Hollywood,' 'Forged,' as well as 'Without Men' and 'Where the Road Meets the Sun.' All of the films are available from Maya Entertainment for purchase now.

This comedy is rated R and if you see the trailer, it is not too long before you see why it earned the rating. Eva Longoria, Oscar Nunez, Kate del Castillo, Christian Slater star in the film set in a remote village somewhere in Latin America. The women in the village take charge when all of the men are recruited for the country's civil war. It is in English and is also available in Blu-ray.

This film received six nominations at the Worldfest International Film Festival in April, participated in other film festivals and had theatrical release in Singapore. It was one of the films screened around the country this summer with the Maya Indie Film Series. One of the cities it screened in was Dallas last month before the release on DVD. It is in English with Japanese sub-titles. The film also features Elsa Pataky, who was in Fast Five, also released on DVD now.

At the Worldfest international film festival in Houston, Mun Chee Yong (director) and Fernando Noriega hold the awards for the film. Yong won the award for Best Director, Noriega was nominated in the Best Actor category and Will Yun Lee (Die Another Day) from this film was selected as Best Actor. The film did have a theatrical release in May in many cities across the nation as one of several released by Pantelion Films. It is written and directed by Carmen Marron and stars Aimee Garcia in the lead role. It is rated PG 13.

This was released on September 20th and looks like a fun family film, especially if they love talking puppies. It is hard not to see it is Halloween themed with the dog's costumes.

Se lanzo esta pelicula el 20 de septiembre y parece ser muy divertida para toda la familia, pero en especial para ellos que les encanta los perritos que hablan. Como todos se ven enmascarados o con una capa por lo menos, vienen listos para celebrar.
