Fast Five is the fifth installment in the Fast and the Furious film series.
The first in the series is The Fast and the Furious (2001), followed by 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003); The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) and Fast and Furious (2009).
Here is the link to the review that I wrote for Fast Five when it had the theatrical release in late April. It is rated PG-13, but it does have scenes of violence, strong language, sexual content to consider despite the rating it is given.

The Lion King is now available on 3D, but before the release on Blu-ray and DVD on October 4th, it was to have only had a two week theatrical release as of September 16th, but since it has been a tremendous success at the box office, I understand it was left in the theaters for a longer period of time.

Check your local theaters to see if one is still hosting it for the public.

Spring and Summer 2011 DVDs You May Have Missed

Spring and Summer was a really busy time for me with work projects, so I was not able to relax on the sofa as much as I would have liked to. Below, you will find quite a variety of films that had a theatrical release, long or short, but it is now available in the store for purchase. There are plenty of telenovelas that were released over the last few months, so if you missed a few episodes and want to catch up on the drama, look around to see if you find your favorites.

This was one of my favorite animated films earlier this year and I had the opportunity to view this in the Santiko Palladium Theater in San Antonio in the northwest area of town across from the La Cantera shopping mall. It was screened in Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D, so it was quite the experience.

I think it has a good script and gives the family something to think about and discuss, particularly the role of the mother in the house/family. I suggest it for children of all ages, but the adults can enjoy it too.

'The Zombie Farm' was filmed in both English and Spanish and for 90 minutes, we see the effects of what happens after a young woman living with domestic abuse decides to consult the local vudu priest.

'REC 2' is the sequel to the international 'REC' film that was successful and was the inspiration for the U. S. made film, 'Quarentine.' Fans can now own it!
Director is Jaume Balguero and filmmaker/screenwriter is Paco Plaza, both helm each film, with the help of co-writer, Manu Diez. Julio Fernandez produces.

After 45 years in the music industry, at 70 years of age, Vicente Fernandez has not stopped doing his yearly tours to stay connected to his audience who he always wants to please. Known as "el rey de las rancheras," the audience is fulfilled as he sings the broad range of his own compositions or those of the well known singer/songwriter, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, as well as those by other songwriters who have left this earth before him. The fantastic professional mariachi that is on the stage with this icon is Mariachi Azteca, who the artist stated has been with him throughout his career.

Make no mistake, he can sing a ballad or two and he crooned 'A Mi Manera' (My Way) in a manner all his own.

Vicente Fernandez takes the center stage to entertain his audience and he loves it when the audience sings along with him or sings a chorus. He highly encourages the audience and no one holds back when everyone is singing in unison.

Not to leave any of his audience unattended, the artist goes from one side of the stage to the other the entire duration of his 3 hour performance.

The audience members are diverse in age and no one stayed silent when the artist started to sing 'Volver, Volver' towards the end of the show. It has everyone on their feet. Some of the audience members were probably not even born when this song was released in the 70s, but they all knew the words and shouted their 'gritos.'

As can be seen from the jumbo screen behind the artist, the audience is thoroughly engaged.

Edith Marquez opened the show for Vicente Fernandez and sang an array of songs from her varied CDs over the years. The star began her career early as a child, then joined the pop group, Timbiriche, reaching international recognition. She began her solo career in 1998 and continued since. She looked stunning in the beautiful dress.

Before the musical entertainment began, the $2500 donation to the Hispanic Scholorship Fund (HSF) from Budweiser and Vicente Fernandez was highlighted, with the young student in the middle present to receive it.
